Birga Kalomoh
Birga embarked on her conservation journey years ago when Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) was emerging. She was among the young graduates who helped establish conservancies adjacent to the Etosha National Park in the North Central Region of Namibia. Her passion for the outdoors and engaging with rural communities strengthened during those formative years. As time passed, she worked in various initiatives, including community development, climate change, and sustainable land management.
Birga is a communicator who thrives on connecting with people and exploring the untapped potential within communities. With a Master’s degree in environmental management, she understands the intricacies of ecosystems, yet values the simplicity of the people who live around and manage them.
Within the CLN Birga is the key go-to person responsible for coordinating activities of the member countries including maintaining liaison, and managing advocacy campaigns and fundraising efforts.
